Smaller than a magazine, the ICONIA TAB A Series sports a 10.1" widescreen display with smart divisions that open up new possibilities for interaction. It runs on the tablet-tailored Android™ Honeycomb 3.0 operating system, and weighs less than 1 kg so it's easy to use and great for carrying. Enjoy a whole new touch experience!

    Strikingly powerful

Encased in the smooth and handsome aluminum unibody chassis is an NVIDIA® Tegra™ 250 dual-core mobile processor and GeForce® GPU, putting striking power and graphics in your hands, while ample RAM enables fast multitasking. The multi-touch screen and fluid interface make using this tablet a breeze. And use it your way: hold the ICONIA TAB in any direction and it'll auto-rotate to your perspective. Use it for a long time too, with up to 8 hours of HD video playback.

    Incredibly entertaining

The ICONIA TAB plays HD 720p video, and puts out Full HD 1080p on a big screen via HDMI®. Match this with Dolby® sound quality and you're geared up for killer entertainment! Other nice features include the Acer Zones, which keep your game, multimedia, reading, and social content organized; and Acer SocialJogger, for managing your social networking accounts from a single page. You'll also get a kick out of the preloaded HD games -- and game stores, for more downloads. And don't worry about space, as a microSD™ Card slot provides plenty of memory expansion.

    Fully connected

The ICONIA TAB packs Acer clear.fi so you can organize, share and enjoy media across different devices within your home network. You'll also appreciate having two cameras: one 5 MP rear-facing and one 2 MP front-facing for superb picture-taking and video calls. This tablet is the first on the market to feature a USB 2.0 port with host support for viewing content from flash drives or smartphones, or connecting a USB keyboard for fast typing. In addition, a Bluetooth® 3.0 port transfers data ultra fast, and wireless connectivity plus optional 3G keep you in constant contact.

The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is Acer’s 10.1-inch Android tablet - as designated by the “A” in it’s product name, unlike the “W” of the W500 tablet that we reviewed previously. At 10.1-inches it faces a number of Honeycomb rivals such as the Asus Eee Pad (...
